Strategic Planning Committee The Strategic Planning Committee is assisting the pastor with the development of a Christian Strategic Plan for Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Our vision is to have a plan that is consistent with biblical doctrine, and yet unique to the gifts and resources of this local church. The purpose of our Christian Strategic Plan is to publicly share the way we intend to carry out God’s given mission. Our Christian Strategic Plan provides a roadmap for how we intend to achieve the church’s short-term goals and long-term goals. The primary components of our Christian Strategic Plan are: (A) Mission, (B) Vision, (C) Values, (D) Goals, and (E) Strategies. This fellowship plans and carries out educational and fellowship activities to strengthen couples in the biblical perspective of marriage. All married couples are invited to participate in this fellowship. Courtesy Ministry An in-house ministry devoted to extending Christ-like hospitality to all visitors to Chestnut Grove. The ministry is responisble for making the announcements and extending verbal greetings to visitors. Other spirit led approaches to achieve these goals maybe initiated this year. Meetings are held on an as need basis. Persons with spiritual gifts of hospitality and who are comfortable with public speaking are best suited for this ministry. Food Preparation This ministry plans menus and serves food for special occasions. Food is also routinely served between 8 a.m. worship service and Sunday School. Persons who enjoy food preparation and serving are best suited for this ministry. Music Ministry Persons in this ministry provides music for regular and special worship services. The ministry currently has two organized choirs, i.e. Adult and Youth. However, there is room for diversification as the spirit leads. Weekly rehearsals are held evening and weekends. Persons with vocal and instrumental gifts are best suited for this ministry. Nursery (Children) This ministry offers child care during the 11 a.m. worship service. However, there are several potential growth opportunities. Persons who love children are best suited for this ministry. Sick & Elderly Ministry A service ministry to persons confined to their home or an institution due to age, illness or disability. This ministry also acknowledges and/or assists members following acute illness. The ministry currently ministers to the residents of St. Mary's LTCF twice each month. Meetings are held on an as needed basis to plan various functions. Persons with spiritual gifts of service and/or comfortable with people who are ill, disabled and aged are most suitable for this ministry. Singles Fellowship The purpose of the Singles' Fellowship of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church is to strengthen its members to serve and walk worthy as single adults through Biblical teachings, fellowship and prayer. Christian Education Ministry (Church School & Bible Study) This ministry is devoted to biblical instructions. Persons with a consistent spiritual study life and a gift for teaching are suited for this ministry. Classes could be adults or children. Continue Learning : KEYWORD LEARNING SYSTEM - OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT Transportation Ministry A service ministry to provide assistance in transporting individuals to church related events. Transportation is currently provided to Sunday worship and special events. However, drivers are needed to expand the ministry to Wednesday's and possible Monday's Bible Studies. Persons with a good driving record and who are available approximately 75 minutes before the scheduled events are best suited for this ministry. Tutorial and Graduation Prep Ministry This ministry is devoted to the tutoring and mentoring of elementary, middle, and high school students. Persons with a gift of reading, writing and/or solving mathematical problems are suited for this ministry. Primarily an in-house ministry devoted to showing Christ-like hospitality to all who enter Chestnut Grove and assisting in the facilitation of a worship experience which brings glory to God. Ushers are present during all services held at the church and other invited occassions. The ministry meets monthly to discuss ministry related matters. Individuals with the spiritual gift of hospitality are best suited for this ministry. Youth Ministry - Kids for Christ (KFC) and Teens of Truth and Love (TOTAL) KFC is devoted to planning and doing outreach activities and strengthening our children through object lessons, fellowship and service. Most activities are held weekend mornings/afternoons throughout the year. TOTAL is devoted to outreach activities and strengthening our teens through group discussion/rap sessions, fellowship and service. The aim is to develop knowledge of God’s love, his Word, and how to apply it to our lives in order to become a complete and total person. Most activities are held weekend afternoons/evenings throughout the year. An evangelistic outreach ministry devoted to reaching the unsaved and/or individuals that are not a member of a local church. Each month, after a brief devotional, members of the ministry canvass a designated community, witnessing and inviting persons to worship at Chestnut Grove. All church members are suitable for this minsitry, especially those with spiritual gifts of evangelism. The purpose of the Women's Fellowship of Chestnut Grove is to create stronger Christian friendships, to mentor to girls and women through all phases of life using Biblical principals, methods and scripture.
